About The Instructor
DANIELLE WINNER KOONTZ has taught childbirth education since 2006. She has been attending births as a doula since 2007. As an anthropologist Danielle was a consultant for the Mayor's Healthy Neighborhood Initiative, which works to increase resources and housing values in select Baltimore neighborhoods. She received her master's degree in Applied Anthropology from the University of Maryland, College Park and her B.A. in anthropology from St. Mary's College of Maryland. Professionally Danielle was certified in Childbirth Education through the Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators (A.L.A.C.E.) and is a member of DONA International. Danielle lives in Catonsville, with her husband, and their two children.
